Java Technical Support Engineer- Intern

The First Responders team is made up of a global team at Guidewire. Our Kuala Lumpur team is offering an immersive internship program in 2021.
The intern program is designed to give university students an opportunity to work in an SAAS organization that delivers 24x7 service to customers who are using our software both on-premises and in the Guidewire Cloud.
 
What can I look forward too?
As an intern, you will learn what it is like to provide our customers with the best customer service experience. You will be embedded with team to own, troubleshoot, and accurately resolve incoming customer support cases covering the Guidewire product portfolio. You will write thorough and detailed case documentation as well as contribute to an environment that encourages information sharing, team-based resolution activity and cross-training. Finally, you will collaborate and build relationships with customers, application engineers, network engineers and more, while getting an insight into what it means to be a professional technical support engineer.
 

Intern Requirements:

  • We are meticulous in our recruitment; careful to hire individuals who have the necessary skills to contribute to the First Responders team.
  • Undergraduate student of a BSc in Computer Science from a recognized higher education institution in Malaysia.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle
  • Good troubleshooting skills: ability to think critically and display an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Exposure to broad technical skills such as Object-Oriented Programming (Java, C#, or similar), relational databases (data modeling/SQL), web UI (design and development), XML, and application architecture. Good knowledge of JAVA and SQL is a MUST.
  • Knowledge of front-end web technologies (JavaScript and AngularJS) or similar
  • Ability to read and interpret application server thread dumps, Oracle AWR reports, and another log files.

  •  Good communication and presentation skills
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English.
