Internal Audit & Business Transformation Intern (Summer 2021) - San Mateo, CA

Within Guidewire's Finance organization, the Internal Audit and Business Transformation (IA/BI) teams play integral roles in supporting the company's rapid growth in the dynamic and evolving P&C insurance industry. Our teams are highly collaborative, friendly, and driven to succeed.

This intern role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in two highly visible groups within the finance organization - in one internship!

The Internal Audit team assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls; handles our SOX compliance program; makes operational improvements, system enhancements, and implementations for accurate internal controls; and performs operational audits in accordance with our established Audit Plan.

The Business Transformation team works collaboratively with Finance, Sales, Professional Services, and Technology teams to implement the strategic roadmap and rollout of our finance process system transformation and optimization. Our efforts help ensure our colleagues have a best-in-class user experience with our finance processes and systems.

Primary Responsibilities - Internal Audit

  • Perform SOX testing per our established audit plan and ensure test results are appropriately detailed and communicated
  • Assist with updates of risk control matrices and process flow charts using Internal Audit’s tool, SOXHUB
  • Assist with testing key reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Collaborate and coordinate with business process owners and external auditors
  • Assist with operational audits and testing
  • Additional ad-hoc requests that arise

Primary Responsibilities - Business Transformation

  • Perform finance process testing for ongoing initiatives
  • Assist with data analyses to provide actionable insight
  • Assist with As-is and To-be process documentation
  • Assist with requirements documentation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for successful project rollout
  • Other ad-hoc requests
