Partner Solutions Evangelist: Solution Alliances, Corporate Strategy

The Team 
Solution Alliances is a specialized team in the Guidewire Corporate Strategy organization. We focus on the development and implementation of Solution Partner/ Independent Software Vendor (“ISV”) programs that extend and complement Guidewire’s solution footprint and accelerate customer momentum via our Solution Partner ecosystem. Solution Partners in Guidewire’s Partner ecosystem develop innovative integration solutions between their product and Guidewire InsuranceSuite and publish them on the Guidewire Marketplace. Guidewire customers use these solutions to accelerate their implementation of complementary business processes. Solution Partners contribute to this community by joining the Guidewire Partner Connect program to build “Ready for Guidewire” integration solutions. The two key components of the Ready for Guidewire program are the Partner recruitment process and the downstream program management of all the recruited Partner projects. The Partner Solutions Evangelist plays a vital role in the recruiting of prospective Solution Partners by ensuring downstream business and technical alignment between the proposed Partner integration scenario, Guidewire Customers and Guidewire’s strategic company and product roadmap for both On-Premise and Cloud delivery models. 
 
Description 
Guidewire Software is seeking an experienced Partner Solutions Evangelist to contribute to the Solution Partner recruitment component of the Ready for Guidewire Program. You will actively engage with prospective Partners to understand and assist with integration scenario discussions, use case scoping, and assess the impact/adoption of these joint solution proposals when Insurers install their respective partner solutions into their Guidewire deployment. Working alongside experienced Guidewire Solution Alliance Managers you will provide technical and functional input into the recruiting decision process of their respective Solution Partner candidate accounts.  
 
You will leverage your deep Guidewire InsuranceSuite technical experience as well as Property & Casualty Insurance domain expertise to lead the evaluation of innovative integration solution proposals from prospective Solution Partners. You will seek out and incorporate guidance from both external and internal teams across both technical and functional areas to help make informed analysis of the prospective Partner solution. This position requires a rare blend of skills across deep expertise in the Guidewire InsuranceSuite platform and genuine passion for innovation and development of new business solutions in the P&C landscape. 
 
Collaborating with the Technical Director of Global Solution Alliances and the broader Alliance Management team you will help ensure a structured engagement across key technical milestones as well as identify evolving patterns that could help with creating reusable technical recipes and process improvements. You will ultimately impact the success of the Property and Casualty Insurance industries’ largest Partner ecosystem! This role interacts with partners who are leading vendors in a broad set of technology domains and Cloud delivery models including AI/ML, Fraud, Risk, Blockchain and other important Insurtech offerings.   

What will you be doing?

  • The Partner Solutions Evangelist will be responsible for evaluating new partner prospects, assessing the technical feasibility of their integration proposal and market fit. 
  • Support Alliance Managers during the onboarding, approval and contracting phase for new Partners. 
  • Understand and adapt program for evolving technical specifications between the Solution Partner, Insurer and Guidewire as Guidewire transitions to the Cloud 
  • Guide new and existing members of the Ready for Guidewire program through their integration journey during development, upgrade etc. 
  • Drive adoption of Guidewire’s platform and integrations technologies.  
  • Act as the technical contact for Partner Developers, provide guidance on Guidewire’s technology roadmap.  
  • Work with the Technical Director, Solution Alliances, to design and/or execute Ready for Guidewire Program process improvements. 
  • Collaborate with Partners and Guidewire internal teams to establish joint partner technical integration strategy, project dependencies, project risks and success criteria. 
  • Influence the direction of Guidewire products. Provide feedback on platform consistency and functionality to Guidewire Product teams. 
  • Represent Solution alliances with multiple internal organizations such as Product Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Professional Services, and Sales.  
  • Ability to understand business tradeoffs between integration standardization and business process flexibility. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with the Guidewire InsuranceSuite, experience with implementation of integration patterns and best practices is a must. 
  • Strong understanding of Java, J2EE, JavaScript and web frameworks 
  • Experience and know-how with modern integration approaches including RESTful web services, Open APIs and testing frameworks 
  • Experience with industry web security protocols (e.g., SAML, Open ID/OAuth) 
  • Experience working within a Partner Ecosystem is a plus. 
  • Guidewire Insurance Suite Certification is a plus. 
  • Cloud Architect Certification, preferably AWS is a plus. 
  • Educational Background- BA/BS/BEng required, preferably in business or technical discipline 

Other requirements

  • Candidate must be proficient in English, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Prefer candidates located anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone or Central Time Zone of the United States/Canada. Residence in a city with a Guidewire office is a plus  
  • Travel requirement: Post-pandemic travel may be required (up to ~ 5%).
