Release QA Engineer - Sao Paulo, Brazil

Guidewire’s PDO group is seeking a Release Quality Engineer to test and publish new innovative solutions developed by our trusted partners in P&C. 
As part of this team, you will be responsible for the end to end testing and publication of partner developed solutions. You will be working in in a fast-paced, highly collaborative agile environment, with cross functional teams and our external partners. We are seeking someone preferably in the AMER region or any remote location but will be willing to support work in USA time zone.

The day-to-day:

  • Setup and maintain test environments/AWS machines working in collaboration with IT & partners
  • Go through solution documentation to understand functional scope of the developed solution
  • Plan and develop test scenarios specific to the solution
  • Install and execute the developed test scenarios, focused on quality
  • Record and share the test execution results
  • Log detailed defects, communicate internally and with partners
  • Sign-off on solution quality
  • Review and provide feedback on supporting solution documentation
  • Publish to Guidewire’s Marketplace
  • Share prompt status and progress updates as needed
  • Suggest and implement process improvements as needed

What you would need to succeed:

  • Experience working in an Agile work environment and knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in testing both manually and using automated tools – specifically Smoke, Functional and Regression Testing.
  • A good understanding of 3rd party Integrations and relevant tools like SoapUI, tomcat, postman etc.
  • Experience building and using automation scripts and tools to support the CI &CD pipeline.
  • Experience using BitBucket/Git, Jira or any other SCM, Agile, Defect Management Tools.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite Core Products and Digital.
  • A fundamental understanding of virtual environments, utilizing such tools as VMWare & AWS Workspace
  • Aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting problems and strong ability to self-organise.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including customer facing soft skills, demonstrating personal and business maturity.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively, must be able to perform a variety of tasks and assignments without sacrificing quality of work.
