We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to help us build a modern software continuous release pipeline to deliver our code to our customers. This is a new position at Guidewire since we’ve traditionally deployed our software as an on prem installable. With our shift to the cloud comes a shift to a new way of building and delivering code and we want you to lead the way.

You will work with our engineering and product leadership to define how code should be released, packaged and delivered to our customer for both our existing monolithic app as well as our new microservices. You will work with both internal stakeholders looking to release frequently as well as external stakeholders looking to minimize business changes to come up with the best way for a company selling large scale mission critical software to deliver small, frequent updates with minimal customer disruption.

This position works on Pacific time zone and needs to be available to come in to a Bay Area office at least once per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to execute the vision for the continuous delivery of our enterprise cloud products.
  • Strategize with engineering leadership on process updates to improve velocity.
  • Define product roadmaps and determine features for each release.
  • Work closely with the engineering organization, 3rd party vendors, and operation teams through design, testing, and product release to deliver features timely and with quality.
  • Collaborate and write requirements with clear acceptance criteria that can be easily consumed by the engineering team.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced work environment

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of total experience, with at least 3 in product management, in cloud-based and cloud-native business applications with specific experience in build and release management.
  • Experience with public cloud (e.g. AWS, GPC or Azure) infrastructure at scale.
  • Understanding of Containerization and Container orchestration (e.g. Docker & Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of blue-green, canary deployments, rolling updates and zero downtime updates.
  • Experience going through full product cycle, integrating feedbacks into product requirements.
  • In depth understanding of software build and release cycles.
  • Ability to clearly articulate product requirements and prioritize enhancement requests.
  • Experience with definition and analysis of metrics that inform the success of products.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and AHA desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical majors.
