Our standards ensure quality, predictability, and security for Guidewire Cloud projects, through solutions, tools, and automation.  CDS defines and develops global standards for how we deliver in Guidewire Cloud by documenting implementation requirements, specifications, and guidelines necessary to deploy in Guidewire Cloud.

Guidewire SurePath is our guided implementation approach, add-on software and tooling that enables customers and their partners to get the most out of their investment in the Guidewire platform. SurePath enables customers to achieve their strategic objectives through faster, predictable delivery of our cloud solutions.

The SurePath Content Team identify and evaluate core product gaps to provide delivery guidance as part of our commitment to drive standardization.  They build features or integrations that have not yet been productized to meet Guidewire Cloud customer implementation requirements. We also utilize SurePath Content to pilot and incubate new features ahead of a core product release in order deliver additional features and functionality to meet customer requirements.

Description of Work

As a Senior SurePath Functional Developer you will be developing and delivering add on functionality and configurations, following Guidewire best practices for our Guidewire Cloud applications. You will work in the Dublin office within the SurePath Content pod, with occasional travel to our headquarters in San Mateo, California: as well as other offices in the USA.

 

Essential Duties

  • Perform configuration and integration of Guidewire products for technical consulting.
  • Learn and master Guidewire's Suite of products and become certified by spending your first two months in training to become a subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with Guidewire on-site consultants and client business teams to understand business objectives and integration requirements.
  • Build SurePath Content software add-ons
  • Lead and mentor junior members on a customer project.

Required Skills/Experience;

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent from third-level or higher education institution
  • A minimum of 4 years exposure to - and broad range of technical skills in - object-oriented programming (JAVA or C#), relational databases (data modeling/SQL), Web UI (design and development), XML, application architectures
  • Software programming languages: Java, C# and Groovy
  • Building automation scripts and tools to support CI/CD pipelines with a thorough understanding of the associated tools and technologies
  • Front end technologies, such as JavaScript, AngularJS/React and server-side web rendering (JSP or equivalent)
  • Container technologies (Docker)
  • Source code (Git) and build systems (Gradle/Maven).
  • Agile software techniques working with product owners, including scoping and defining requirements as epics and user stories and provide development estimates using story points
  • Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Detail oriented and focused on results
  • Passionate about programming and Web technologies

  • Background as an Analyst or Technical Consultant working with Fortune 500 companies
  • Experience with n-tier web architected solutions
  • Knowledge of policy, billing, or claim processes within an insurance company
