What is Guidewire’s Cloud Delivery Strategy (CDS) and Guidewire SurePath?

Guidewire Cloud Standards are proven principles and practices that enable a successful Guidewire Cloud™ implementation journey. Our standards ensure quality, predictability, and security for Guidewire Cloud projects, through solutions, tools, and automation. CDS defines and develops global standards for how we deliver in Guidewire Cloud by standardizing and optimizing specifications, software and guidelines.

Guidewire SurePath is our guided implementation approach, software and tooling that enables customers and/or their partners to get the most out of their investment in the Guidewire platform. SurePath enables customers to achieve their strategic objectives through faster, predictable delivery of our cloud solutions.

SurePath Content team

Guidewire’s Product Development and CDS teams identify and evaluate core product gaps to provide delivery guidance as part of our commitment to drive standardization. The SurePath Content team builds features or integrations that have not yet been productized in order to meet Guidewire Cloud customer implementation requirements. We also utilize SurePath Content to pilot and incubate new features ahead of a core product release in order deliver additional features and functionality to meet customer requirements.

Description of Work

As a SurePath Integration Architect you will be designing and delivering SurePath functionality and integrations, following Guidewire best practices for our Guidewire Cloud applications. You will work in the Dublin office within the SurePath Integration Practice, reporting to the SurePath Integration Practice Manager in the USA. You may be required to travel to our headquarters in San Mateo, California: as well as other customer and Guidewire partner offices.

As an Integration Architect you will be required to have a deep understanding of our Guidewire Cloud features, functions and capabilities, and how to design and configure and enhance them.

Key responsibilities

  • Create detailed integration platform architecture designs and specifications for our Guidewire Cloud applications and platforms
  • Third party integration solutions, architecture design and solutions, including cloud platforms, connectivity and security
  • Alignment with the Guidewire Product Development architectures and functions
  • Facilitation of Guidewire partner enablement through shared design practices and the creation reusable components and platforms
  • Leadership: the ability to adapt to various work settings and serve in an advisory/leadership role, provide technical project leadership and mentoring support to junior team members, and be a key contact for escalations in the event of situations or escalations

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to design, program, test, and deploy complicated integration software and infrastructure
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Background in consulting or equivalent in a customer facing role in a professional services organization
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 5 years exposure to - and broad range of technical skills in - object-oriented programming (JAVA or C#), relational databases (data modeling/SQL), Web UI (design and development), XML, application architectures
  • Software programming languages: Java, C# and Groovy
  • Building automation scripts and tools to support CI/CD pipelines with a thorough understanding of the associated tools and technologies
  • Front end technologies, such as JavaScript, AngularJS/React and server-side web rendering (JSP or equivalent)
  • Container technologies (Docker), Source code (Git) and build systems (Gradle/Maven).
  • Software development lifecycle exposure and Agile software techniques and working with analysists, including scoping and defining requirements as epics and user stories and provide development estimates using story points
  • Desired Skills and Experience

  • The position requires a unique blend of technical aptitude, business savvy, and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and focused on results
  • Background as a Senior Analyst or Technical Architect working with Fortune 500 companies
  • Extensive knowledge of policy, billing, or claim processes within an insurance company
