Senior QA Engineer - CAPS

Guidewire's Cloud Assurance team is looking for a smart, proactive, and results-oriented Senior QA, based in our Dublin office, to join a growing global team at the forefront of Guidewires move to the cloud. The CAPS team works with Guidewire Cloud customers to develop new features, resolve issues, and assure the quality of each customers’ production code base.    

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA who can help us build and leverage automation frameworks and roll up their sleeves to help us test our customer implementations quickly, efficiently, and accurately. You will work as part of a global Guidewire testing team that will own the design, development, and maintenance of an automated and manual testing frameworks.  Furthermore, you will work closely with our customers and technical consultants to ensure code developed works as designed.

Successful senior testing engineers at Guidewire typically are:

  • Able to take ownership of the hands-on development effort related to manual and automated testing required for customer deployments

What are we looking for?

  • Proven ability to lead a QA project from requirement analysis to meeting deadlines and releasing high quality code directly to a production environment
  • Proven ability to assist with the strategy and framework design for a scalable, reusable, extendable, and robust automated testing framework that will serve as the foundation for quality assurance activity
  • Experience working with internal development teams and customers to understand business objectives and functional requirements
  • Create detailed, comprehensive documentation supporting developed testing plans.
  • Understand the agile development process and how QA is integrated into delivery schedules.
  • Ability to prioritize work effort based on a dynamic work environment.
  • This is a hands-on position; you will be required to install and configure systems to execute required tests.
  • Perform manual and regression testing when needed.
  • Experience working with customers and users, providing guidance, status, and prompt responses to deliver a quality product per schedule.
  • Experience using a software defect tracking system e.g. JIRA
  • Experience working with BDD methodology and Gherkin
  • Exposure to broad technical skills such as Object-Oriented programming (JAVA or C#), relational databases (data modeling/SQL), web UI (design and development), XML, application architecture
  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent from third level institution
