CAPS Senior QA Automation Engineer

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our Cloud Assurance Production Services (CAPS) team - this person will be passionate about building and maintaining high quality software and ensuring the success of new & existing Guidewire Cloud customers. The CAPS team works with Guidewire Cloud customers to develop new features, resolve issues, and assure the quality of each customers’ production code base.

The Role:

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer with CAPS, you will work as part of the teams responsible for delivering new automation scripts for our Cloud customers for the various insurance web applications. Due to the dynamic, fast-paced nature of Production, no day is like the other so logical thinking, problem solving, accountability and an ability to work as part of a global team are essential.

You will work with a team of senior and junior manual and automation test engineers working with multiple Guidewire Cloud customers to manage their Production changes.

Continuous Improvement is core to what we do so you will collaborate with the team to identify ways of improving process efficiencies and quality of delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Create /manage automated suite of tests.
  • Determine the most effective testing strategies, both automated and manual, for our products.
  • Work as a team to develop and maintain automated testing suites using testing frameworks across multiple products.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive documentation supporting developed testing plans.
  • Understand the agile development process and how QA is integrated into schedules.
  • Perform manual and regression testing when needed.
  • This is a hands-on position, you will be required to install, configure systems to execute required tests.
  • Ability to read and understand business requirement documents and determine the best way to create tests for each item assigned to them.
  • Strong process workflow and documentation skills.

Required Skills and experience;

  • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience and understanding of working within a QA team.
  • Familiarity with software version control (Git or equivalent)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment processes and ability to configure/setup automation suites in CI/CD , e.g. Jenkins.
  • Capable with XML, JSON, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience utilizing Agile development tools for project management and bug tracking (ex. TFS, Jira, or Rally)
  • Experience testing RESTful API and competent with API testing tools (ex. Postman and Swagger).
  • Familiar with object-oriented programming languages like Java, C#.
  • Experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with GitHub.
  • Experience in Selenium WebDriver or TestNG frameworks (3+years).
  • Experience in Test Driven/Behaviour driven development frameworks (2+years).
  • Experience with platform virtualization environments (ex. Azure or AWS).
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to speak at group events, and to interface with customers.
  • Experience working with customers and users, providing guidance, status, and prompt responses.
  • Participate in the release process
