We are looking for an accomplished Release Engineering professional to join our Product development team. As a Director of Release Engineering, you will :

Job Description :

  • Provide leadership, direction and vision for current and future product releases in accordance with continuous improvement standards of performance throughout all phases of the product release life cycle.
  • Design, implement and manage continuous integration and deployment within hybrid cloud infrastructures for rapid software release
  • Analyze trade-offs between potential engineering solutions, selecting the optimal path and ultimately guiding the team
  • Evaluate and manage security risks in solution design and implementation
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, actively adopting new practices and techniques to accelerate delivery
  • Serve as a key member of the core technology leadership team
  • Able to institutionalize processes that help in having a smooth release cycle for multiple product portfolios
  • Manage release versions and inter service version compatibility
  • Automate processes and cut releases with necessary testing done
  • Coordinate release activities around penetration testing and other necessary gates for a successful release
  • Own the infrastructure for release while adhering to wider dept standards
  • Partner with business, program management, architecture, system owner, 3rd party vendors, testing and other teams as necessary to ensure successful delivery
  • Manage onshore and offshore resources, including recruiting, mentor-ship and technologist development
  • Identify, manage, and apply mitigation plans against risks to successful delivery
  • Recommend process improvements and identify new tools and technologies to develop release process. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in designing, developing and delivering mission critical service solutions within a large, complex environment, possessing expert-level skills in the following areas:
  • DevOps toolchain, i.e. BitBucket, JIRA, Jenkins Pipeline, Artifactory or Nexus used to deploy n-tier application stacks
  • Architect-level understanding of one or more of the major public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), using them to effectively design secure and scalable services
  • Demonstrated ability to manage software release risks, including holding releases when necessary
  • Able to recruit, lead, motivate and inspire technologists to achieve aggressive goals
  • Experience integrating new technology and platforms with mission critical legacy systems
  • Ability to stitch best of breed tools and practices together to solve business problems, embracing the security (confidentiality, integrity, availability) and complexity challenges that may arise
  • Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to find the correct path given limited guidance
  • Possesses an automate everything mindset, from CI/CD based deployment to team collaboration
  • Experienced in iterative / agile team management including transformation at scale
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Often the “go to” person for the hard, technical challenges that others avoid

Required Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
