We are looking for an experienced Data Management Consultant to join our Cloud Assurance Production Services (CAPS) team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Management Consultant who is passionate about building and maintaining high quality software and ensuring the success of new & existing Guidewire Cloud customers. The CAPS team works with Guidewire Cloud customers to develop new features, resolve issues, and assure the quality of each customers’ production code base.

The Role:

As a Data Management Consultant with CAPS, you will work as part of the teams responsible for delivering new features for our Cloud customers as well as resolving production defects and assuring that code bound for Production follows Guidewire Cloud best practices and standards. Due to the dynamic, fast-paced nature of Production, no day is like the other so logical thinking, problem solving, accountability and an ability to work as part of a global team are essential.

You will lead a new team of Data Management Consultant working with multiple Guidewire Cloud customers to manage their Production changes.

Continuous Improvement is core to what we do so you will collaborate with the team to identify ways of improving process efficiencies and quality of delivery.

 

Responsibilities: 

·   Work in a hands-on capacity to support and maintain Guidewire data management solutions using ETL tools in the areas of Business Intelligence and Data Integration

·   Assisting our customers in their use of Guidewire’s Data Management Products and providing high level recommendations/solutions where needed

·   Analyzing customer reported issues and working for their resolution in a timely manner

·   Building up the skills needed to improve the response times of the data loads

·   Ability to work independently as well as collaborating with internal teams for quicker resolution of customer reported issues

·   Ability to lead and mentor a team of Data Management consultants in the execution of monthly releases

 

Required skills/experience: 

·   Experience in or knowledge of relational database theory

·   Experience of using Cognos (preferred) for reports design and their maintenance

·   Knowledge of data-warehousing, Data Marts (including star and snowflake schemas) and BI

·   Experience in or knowledge of Data Mapping and Data Modeling

·   SQL scripting skills (TSQL and/or PL/SQL), including query optimization

·   Experience using ETL tools (e.g. SAP (Business Objects Data Services) - preferred, Informatica, SSIS)

·   Effective communication skills for interacting with our customers

·   Effective writing skills: ability to produce clear, concise, and high-quality customer facing technical documents

·   A strong sense of accountability and self-motivation

·   An ability to think critically and an aptitude for problem solving; good trouble shooting skills

·   Proven leadership experience within a successful development team 

·   Experience working with customer teams to understand business objectives and functional requirements
