Finance Manager, Sales - Minneapolis, MN

Guidewire’s Finance Manager – Sales Finance will support the Sales team and manage the deal desk function. This role will focus heavily on business partnership and will be responsible for deal process support to ensure alignment between Sales and Finance organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales Operations to track deal activity and approvals
  • Manage deal pricing structure, discounts and non-standard approvals
  • Partner with FP&A, Revenue and general accounting teams to highlight implications of non-standard deals terms
  • Work with development and operations to understand revenue recognition impact of deal terms
  • Act as a sounding board to sales on revenue recognition impact of proposed deal terms
  • Help with quota capacity and territory planning to help understanding of performance and attainment KPI's
  • Work to ensure accuracy of data in salesforce.com
  • Report on key deal metrics
  • Create complex analytical frameworks to identify growth opportunities for senior leadership
  • Assist with pricing model analysis and drive packaging improvements
  • Build reporting presentations for executive and board level audiences
  • Providing financial support for key strategic and operational projects

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a sales operations / sales finance
  • SaaS and software industry experience preferred – understanding of software revenue recognition
  • Accounting, Economics, or Finance degree preferred
  • Technically sound, systems savvy with advanced skills in Excel modeling, PowerPoint; proficiency with ERP, CRM (Salesforce), and BI tools (Adaptive Insights) a plus
  • Superior analytical and modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and still be detail-oriented
  • Experience interpreting complicated customer contracts
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Experience working with a team and collaborating with various functions
