Overview


The Geschäftsführer (Country Manager) will oversee all sales and operations for our German office, and will provide guidance and leadership to the various teams. They will represent Guidewire externally and in prospect/customer meetings and must be an exemplar of the Guidewire culture and values of integrity, rationality and collegiality. The Country Manager will oversee the goals for Germany and track progress on those goals while empowering team members to identify areas of opportunity.

  1. Sales Management (50%)

The Country Manager is the head of the sales organization for Germany.  In this capacity the Country Manager will:

  • Set, execute, and manage sales goals for the region
  • Build and maintain executive-level customer, prospect and partner relationships
  • Identify sales opportunities, meet customers, and present the Guidewire value proposition
  • Maintain an understanding of the competitive marketplace
  • Develop sales strategy, drive new market initiatives, etc.
  • Effectively remove sales obstacles
  1. General Management (30%)

The Country Manager acts as the general manager and senior representative of Guidewire in Germany for customers, prospects, and partners.  In this capacity the Country manager will:

  • Oversee all operations of Guidewire in Germany
  • Ensure that each function – Marketing, Implementation Services, Support, Engineering, and so on – is delivering the best products and services for the German market
  • Ensure that we recruit, inspire and retain the best employees for our mission
  • Identify and solve complex issues
  1. Strategy and Planning administration (20%)

The Country Manager will support Guidewire’s management team in setting and executing strategy:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the organization through the development of long-range and annual plans
  • Manage and evaluate progress on plans
  • Work closely with department heads to identify opportunities, challenges, and needed resources
  • Research and write discussion papers, analysis documents and proposals as needed to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long- and short-term goals
  • Oversee preparation of the annual budget


Requirements

  • Track record of commercial excellence in General Management of a sales and/or professional services organization, ideally within an Enterprise Software Vendor (ERP, SCM, Financial related Software) or Insurance business operating at “C” level
  • Exemplary leadership, organizational and supervisory skills
  • A track record of speaking at Industry events as a thought leader
  • Ability to communicate successfully in German and English, both written and verbal format
  • Superior training and presentation skills
  • Understand the organizational culture of a mid-size business
  • Ability to produce a high level of service to colleagues
  • Be cordial and amenable
  • Be resourceful, inventive and self-confident
  • Insurance industry knowledge and experience is desirable
  • Education: Bachelor of Business or Technology
