The Geschäftsführer(in) / Country Manager will oversee all sales and operations for our German office, and will provide guidance and leadership to the various teams across the DACH region. They will represent Guidewire externally in prospect or customer meetings and must be an exemplar of the Guidewire culture and values of integrity, rationality and collegiality. The Country Manager will oversee the goals for Germany, owning the overall business plan and track progress, while empowering team members to identify areas of opportunity in a strategically important market.

  1. Sales Management (50%)

The Country Manager is the head of the sales organization for Germany.  In this capacity the Country Manager will:

  • Leverage their extensive C Level network and Build and maintain additional executive-level customer, prospect and partner relationships
  • Identify sales opportunities, meet and influence customers, and present the Guidewire value proposition
  • Maintain and internally communicate an understanding of the competitive marketplace
  • Contribute to business development and sales strategy, drive new market initiatives, etc.
  • Effectively remove sales obstacles through the use of executive relationships

  1. General Management (30%)

The Country Manager acts as the general manager and senior representative of Guidewire in Germany for customers, prospects, and partners.  In this capacity the Country manager will:

  • Oversee and advise all operations of Guidewire in Germany
  • Ensure that each function – Marketing, Implementation Services, Support, Engineering, and so on – is delivering the best products and services for the German market
  • Contribute to the recruitment process and help inspire and retain the best employees for our mission
  • Provide intelligence and influence into the European Leadership Team and Corporate HQ
  1. Strategy and Planning administration (20%)

The Country Manager will support Guidewire’s management team in setting and executing strategy:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the organization
  •  evaluate progress on plans
  • Work closely with department heads to identify opportunities, challenges, and needed resources
  • Research and write discussion papers, analysis documents and proposals as needed to assist the organization in determining and meeting its long- and short-term goals


  • Proven track record as Board member of P&C Insurer (s) Germany, with strong C-Level network of colleagues and peers in the sector
  • Exemplary leadership, organizational and supervisory skills
  • A track record of speaking at Industry events as a thought leader
  • Strong commercial and interpersonal skills to proactively build Guidewire’s exposure and relationships in the German P&C market utilizing the network and contacts built throughout your career
  • This could be a full-time or part-time non-exec role
