Customer Success through collaboration on-site. To accomplish that we employ a flexible travel schedule of traveling to the customer on Mondays to return on Thursday which has been called the 3-4-5 in the industry: 3 nights away, 4 days onsite, with the fifth day working from home. We have a Global Mobility team to ensure you have the right support.
Guidewire place strong emphasis on employee development and this role provides opportunities for exposure to the full data management domain within Guidewire. The individual is expected to work closely with other Guidewire staff, customers and partners to successfully implement Guidewire Data Management projects.
Our persistent Operational Data Store (ODS) unifies, standardizes and stores data from disparate systems and external sources and allows our customers to accelerate legacy replacement and BI development. Our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) purpose-built for P&C insurance provides information for BI, analysis, and enhanced decision making by providing a holistic view through conformed data from the entire enterprise.
Essential duties of this position include:
Work in a hands-on capacity to customize and deliver Guidewire data management solutions using ETL tools in the areas of Business Intelligence, Data Migration and Data Integration;
Perform Data Profiling, Data Analysis and Data Mapping;
Participate in Data Modeling activities, to extend the persistent ODS and the EDW;
Develop ETL logic to integrate and/or migrate data from legacy systems and Guidewire applications via the persistent ODS;
Design and Develop ETL logic to extend and publish data marts in the EDW from the persistent ODS;
Test and execute initial and delta loads of both the persistent ODS and the EDW;
Fine-tune all ETL Processes to maximize performance.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a majority of the following technical skills:
Experience in or knowledge of relational database theory;
Knowledge of data-warehousing, Data Marts (including star and snowflake schemas) and BI
Design best practices and techniques;
Experience in or knowledge of Data Mapping and Data Modeling;
SQL scripting skills (TSQL and/or PL/SQL), including query optimization;
Experience using ETL tools (e.g. SAP (Business Objects Data Services) - preferred, Informatica, SSIS).

Fluency in French, Spanish, German or Italian is a must
Effective communication skills including ability to deliver effective presentations and demos; ability to work with a broad spectrum of people;
Effective writing skills; ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality customer facing technical and business documents;
A desire to work collaboratively in a small, cross-functional team;
A strong sense of accountability and self-motivation;
An ability to think critically and an aptitude for problem solving; good trouble shooting skills;
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science or a related field.
Willingness and ability to travel 80% within the region. Guidewire employs a flexible travel model that requires consultants to be on site four days per week and away from home three nights per week. Consultants work the fifth day from their home office. These roles represent Guidewire Software on customer site.
Additional nice to have skills/experience include:
Experience in or knowledge of Agile project delivery practices;
Experience in or knowledge of XML and Object Oriented Programming;
Experience in or knowledge of BI/ Reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS),
Crystal Reports, Cognos etc.);
Experience in property and casualty insurance.
